Terms and Conditions for "Refer a Friend" Program
These terms apply to the referral of new customers (hereinafter referred to as "New Customers") to Steuerbot GmbH (hereinafter referred to as "Steuerbot") by existing customers of Steuerbot (hereinafter referred to as "Existing Customers") via the application (hereinafter referred to as "Refer-a-Friend"). These specific terms are further specified in the conditions of the Refer-a-Friend program (hereinafter referred to as "Program Terms"), which are displayed to Existing Customers within the app.
1. Eligible Participants
1.1 New Customers and Existing Customers must be different natural persons and of legal age.
1.2 The Existing Customer must be a registered user who has submitted at least one tax return to the tax office using Steuerbot. A New Customer is any user who has not yet completed a tax return with Steuerbot and has not referred another New Customer before.
1.3 The Existing Customer's relationship with Steuerbot must remain active until the bonus is credited.
2. Bonus Conditions
- For each New Customer referred, the Existing Customer receives a bonus. Depending on the Program Terms displayed in the app at the time the bonus conditions are met, the New Customer may also receive a discount on their first tax return with Steuerbot.
- The actual bonus amount for the Existing Customer and the discount for the New Customer are determined by the Program Terms in effect at the time the bonus conditions are fulfilled.
- A referral occurs when the following conditions are met:
- The Existing Customer receives a personalized referral link within the app. This link may be shared with New Customers. The Existing Customer must not share the referral link publicly or allow it to be publicly shared. Public sharing includes using channels or media without a personal connection (e.g., YouTube, WhatsApp groups, podcasts, messaging platforms, mass emails, online forums, or coupon websites).
- The New Customer registers with Steuerbot via the referral link and redeems their discount.
- The New Customer completes at least one paid tax return using their account.
- The bonus will be credited to the Existing Customer's app within 30 days after the New Customer's tax return payment has been received by Steuerbot GmbH.
- The Existing Customer can withdraw their bonus or multiple bonuses to their bank account through the app as soon as at least one bonus is available.
3. Restrictions
- Each Existing Customer can earn a maximum total of €1,000 through the Refer-a-Friend program, corresponding to 100 New Customers referred. Eligible New Customers may receive the discount only once. This does not prevent them from referring additional New Customers as Existing Customers.
- Refer-a-Friend is offered solely for personal, non-commercial purposes.
- A New Customer may only use one referral link during registration.
- If the bonus conditions outlined in Section 2 are not met within one year of the referral link being generated, Steuerbot will deactivate the link, and the bonus will no longer be paid.
4. No Legal Obligation and Amendments to Program Terms
- Participation in the Refer-a-Friend program does not constitute a legally binding obligation on Steuerbot GmbH.
- Steuerbot reserves the right to modify or terminate the Refer-a-Friend program at any time without prior notice or explanation.
- Any changes or termination of the program will be announced in the app and on the website, taking effect immediately upon announcement.
- Steuerbot may exclude individual customers from the program at its discretion if they engage in abusive or fraudulent behavior or violate the program's terms or restrictions. Steuerbot is not obligated to provide justification for exclusion.
- If Steuerbot discovers commercial use of the Refer-a-Friend program or public sharing of referral links after a bonus has been paid, Steuerbot reserves the right to reclaim the bonus amount from the customer and, if necessary, reverse the payment.
5. Data Privacy

To maintain transparency in the Refer-a-Friend program, the following information will be shared between Existing and New Customers:
- The New Customer will see the first name of the Existing Customer who referred them, acknowledging who provided the discount on their next tax return.
- The Existing Customer will see the first name and the initial of the last name of the New Customer they referred, allowing them to track their referrals.
- The Existing Customer will also be informed of the New Customer’s registration status and tax return progress to monitor when they have earned their bonus.
Since Existing and New Customers are usually acquainted, this information is typically known to both parties.

If the New Customer enables notifications in the Steuerbot app, the Existing Customer who referred them can send additional push notifications encouraging them to complete their tax return.

If the New Customer does not wish to receive push notifications, they can disable them at any time in their device's system settings.
